The Mixing Bowl

I was talking to my friend recently about how to make the world a better place. One conclusion we came to was to fuse education by experience and cultural awareness to people around the world at an early age. If you had a socio-economic-cultural exchange between kids from different societies, they could work together to bring about realistic lasting change. To use extreme example: a boy from a big developed city and a girl from a small rural village swap positions for a month or two to gain an experience in an alternative reality. This would lead to widening of perspectives and bring about variants of growth (a drop of unusual magic) that would change both the society and the child forever. Extrapolate for beautiful results.

Separately, through the networks today I came across this: PenPall News. A web app to connect people from different cultures and societies to debate and discuss recent news items, thereby actively interacting with people different from themselves.

what a neat idea!
